To All Members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering:
Due to the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, following the guidelines provided by the University of Maryland, College Park, the operations of the Department of Mechanical Engineering will require limiting of the presence of staff members in the office each day and allowing for teleworking of employees. While we recognize that we need to do our best to keep essential research, student advising, and business operations going in the unit, we also need to support employees in caring for their health and reducing risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Once we receive your request any issue that requires remote hands-on support will be handled through rhelp.umd.edu – a service that will allow us to remote into your computer and take care of any software needs or issues.
If your issue would best be served with a real time chat, we will message you via teams.webex.com. Webex Teams will allow us to share files, photos, links and more in real time to get you up and running as quickly as possible. And from there, if we need to, we can initiate a video chat using Webex Meetings.
Finally, for any issue that requires a physical presence, our teammate Aman will be able to assist you. He is very knowledgeable and should be able to resolve any issue quickly. And we will be on hand for guidance, if necessary.
We appreciate your understanding and patience in this evolving and challenging COVID-19 Outbreak situation. We are trying to minimize person-to-person interactions and practice social distancing as much as possible. Please note this plan is subject to change depending on further guidelines from campus.
